Puerto Rico’s Women’s National Basketball Team Set to Compete for Gold in Central American and Caribbean Games

With their sights set on hanging gold around their necks, the women’s national basketball team will begin their participation in the Central American and Caribbean Games this Saturday against the host quintet, El Salvador, as confirmed by the organizing committee of the contest.

The Puerto Ricans will jump onto the court at the José Adolfo Pineda National Gymnasium at 9:30 pm Puerto Rico time.

The second commitment of the warriors will be tomorrow Sunday at 7:00 pm (Puerto Rico time) against the Costa Rican team and on Monday, June 26, they close the first round against Cuba, also at 7:00 pm

The national team was made up of Pamela Rosado, Tayra Meléndez, Mya Hollingshed, Trinity San Antonio, Jacqueline Benítez, India Pagán, Brianna Jones, Kaelynn Satterfield, Jada Stinson, Adryanna Quezada, Mariah Pérez and Anyssa Jones.

Jones was added in Sofia Roma’s place.

The coaching staff is headed by Gerardo ‘Jerry’ Batista and the assistants will be Glenda Negrón and Miguel Toro.

Colombia won the gold in the last Barranquilla 2018 Games. Puerto Rico obtained the bronze medal.
