Historic day in Major League Baseball, after pitcher Domingo Germán got a perfect game with the Yankees before the Oakland Athletic’s, joining the list of pitchers to get it.
In the history of Major League Baseball, the 27 outs have been given perfectly 24 times (with today’s). Germán’s brilliant pitch came after not seeing anything like it for almost 11 years, in 2012.
The last pitcher to get a perfect game was Felix Hernandez with the Seattle Mariners.
Domingo Germán is the fourth element of the Yankees to get one, after what was done by Don Larsen in 1956, David Wells in 1998 and David Cone in 1999.
