Paris 2024 Olympics – Oise: the Olympic flame will pass through Beauvais

There was an air of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in the park of the Hôtel du Département de l’Oise this Sunday, June 11 with the second edition of the sports festival. Indeed, in almost a year, France will host the Summer Games.

This is how Thierry Rey, Olympic judo champion in Moscow in 1980, was present in Beauvais (Oise). The opportunity for the Paris 2024 special adviser to continue the tour of the 2024 Games flags by passing through the city-prefecture of Oise:

It was really important that we were here today because you are part of this big family. Thank you for all that you offer to the inhabitants of your department, to your team which will compete in the Olympic and Paralympic Games, to the associations which are committed, to the volunteers…

The Oise, “the largest sports ground”

The sports festival thus made it possible to bring together nearly 40 sports disciplines in one and the same place, for one afternoon. This Sunday, June 11, the Hôtel du Département in Beauvais was then “largest sports ground”… even if Porte d’Auteuil was the day of the final at Roland-Garros. It was also broadcast on the big screen during this sports day.

“The goal is to make known the clubs of Oise, knowing that we have many in the department who practice an Olympic sport, supports Nadège Lefebvre, president of the Oise departmental council. We see a lot of young people who want to try out disciplines they don’t necessarily know. This is what this type of event allows. »

The Olympic flame in the Oise, “we will know very soon”

But this is only a taste of what awaits you very soon: if Oise will host the Olympic torch relay after his arrival in Marseille on May 8, 2024, we can exclusively announce that his journey will pass through the Hôtel du Département, in Beauvais.

“We have just had confirmation, tells us Nadège Lefebvre. We will communicate on the day when the organizers give us the corresponding day. And I think we will find out very soon because we have to meet them before the end of June. »

We will surely have to wait until June 23, when the route of the Olympic torch relay will be unveiledto know more.
