The 106-member OC team (leader Jeong Chul-seung) swept 12 gold medals and 3 silver medals in badminton, the traditional ‘gold vein’, and won 1 gold medal in baseball, 1 gold medal, 2 silver medals, and 3 bronze medals in table tennis. Before the tournament, the OC team aimed to enter the 3rd or 4th place in the overall rankings.

Chairman Choi Jae-seok said, “We had to be at a disadvantage compared to the eastern team in terms of participation scores according to the size of the team, but thanks to our players doing their best, we were able to achieve good results. Thank you to everyone who showed interest and support.”

General Manager Jeong said, “Among the teams that competed in the western part of the United States, which is farthest from the venue, the OC had the best results. I am satisfied with the result of the players and officials working hard together as one.”

The New York team won the overall championship with a total score of 5368, and New Jersey (4652 points) came second. Dallas (3938 points) competed closely with Washington DC (3625 points) until the final day of the tournament, and rose to third place with a gap of only 13 points. The OC team scored a total of 2335 points.

Chairman Choi said, “The next American Games will be held in LA in 2025. Since the tournament is held right next door, it is worth aiming for the overall championship two years later. I will start preparing step by step from now on with the goal of winning the championship.”
