National Walking Football Festival showcases Braga district selection

The Braga Football Association will be represented at the National Walking Football Festival, which will take place over the next two days, Saturday and Sunday, in Cidade do Futebol, bringing together 22 District and Regional Associations.
The Braga district selection is formed by the Walking Football team of Vitória SC, and has the following elements: António Rodrigues, Aline Dias, Armindo Abreu, Conceição Oliveira, Miquelina Amaro, Carmo Ribeiro, Conceição Castro, João Fernandes, João Rocha, Manuel Cardoso and Alberto Teixeira, guided by the district coach Tiago Moura.
Inserted in the F series, the district selection of Braga will measure forces with the counterparts of Madeira, of Angra do Heroísmo and, also, a team of the Union of Players.
Walking Football has specific rules, the most basic of which is that players cannot run, having to always keep one foot in contact with the ground.
Moreover, each team is made up of five elements, men and women, without a goalkeeper. The field measures 20mx40m and the duration of the game is 40 minutes, 20 minutes for each half – another difference in relation to football itself is the height of the goal, which is slightly lower in Walking Football.
Players cannot touch the ball more than three times in a row, which cannot rise above one meter in height. The goal, the main objective of the game, is only valid if it is scored inside the area.
