This Serie A season is finished, along with the completion of the series of duels in the closing giornata. The following is the final standings of the highest caste of Italian football.

Napoli won 2-0 against Sampdoria in Week 38, making them end the season with 90 points. The runner-up position went to Lazio, who beat Empoli 2-0 and finished with 74 points.

Inter Milan, who won 1-0 over Torino, locked in third place with 72 points. AC Milan took the final slot into next season’s Champions League after finishing fourth with 70 points, following a 3-1 win over Hellas Verona.


Europa League rations went to Atalanta who finished fifth with 64 points after a 5-2 landslide win over Monza and AS Roma who finished sixth with 63 points after a dramatic 2-1 win over Spezia. Italy has the opportunity to add one representative, the condition is that Fiorentina must beat West Ham United in the Europa Conference League final in the middle of this week.

Juventus, who received a 10-point deduction penalty due to a case of inflating transfer fees, had to settle for seventh place with 62 points after a narrow 1-0 win over Udinese. They will appear in the Conference League next season.

Sampdoria and Cremonese had to say goodbye to Serie A after finishing in the relegation zone. Meanwhile, Spezia and Verona, who finished 17th and 18th with 31 points, will have a playoff match on June 11 to determine who stays in Serie A and who drops the caste.

They will be replaced by Frosinone and Genoa as well as another winner of the promotion playoff between Bari vs Cagliari which will also be played on June 11.
