Changes to the 2023 MotoGP standings took place after Francis Bagnaia from Ducati won MotoGP Italy 2023 at the Mugello Circuit, Sunday (11/6).

Bagnaia performed beautifully during the Italian MotoGP week. After being the fastest in the sprint race and winning pole position, Bagnaia completed his sixth series this season and also won the 2023 Italian MotoGP race.

The victory at the 2023 Italian MotoGP made Bagnaia get another 25 additional points. Or the total racer from Italy won 37 points in the series this time.

Armed with these full points, Bagnaia is now firmly at the top of the 2023 MotoGP standings with 131 points. The second position is still occupied by Marco Bezzecchi who finished eighth, with 110 points.

Jorge Martin, who won the second podium in the Italian MotoGP, moved into third place in the standings. Martin shifted Brad Binder who finished fifth.

A fatal blunder was experienced by Alex Marquez, who almost got 16 points in the Italian MotoGP race. When he finished third in the race, Marc Marquez’s younger sibling experienced a lowside and an accident, so he failed to finish and lost points.

Tough competition was not only happening at the top, but also in the mid-table at the eighth, ninth, and 10th ranks. Sequentially Aleix Espargaro, Fabio Quartararo and Maverick Vinales are only one point apart.

Marquez also experienced bad luck, who for the second time in a row failed to finish the race and did not get any points. Marquez, who was in the middle of the 2023 Italian MotoGP competing for third place, had to slip.

GasGas racer Augusto Fernandez, who is the only rookie this season, is still stuck in 14th place by collecting 31 points.
