MotoGP awaits the arrival of Acosta like rain in May

It is already a fact, excuse me, a confirmation: the Murcian Pedro Acosta, 19, world champion in Moto3 and who is now chasing the world title of Moto2, will ride a KTM official next season in the MotoGP championship. Acosta has refused to continue for another year, in 2024, in the intermediate displacement The Austrian factory has no choice but to assure him (by contract) that it will provide him with one of its official motorcycles next season. Now we just need to know who will take that bike from and/or if the championship authorizes KTM to have two more bikes on the grid, that is, six machines.

It was very clear that KTM was going to have to give in to its claim that the one whom the entire ‘paddock’ now calls the nickname ‘the next’, in what is considered the succession of Marc Márquez, continue, despite winning the title as it seems to happen, one more season getting bored in Moto2, where he no longer has anything to learn.

“Pedro already had a spectacular 2022, although he couldn’t win the Moto2 title”, he explained Marc Márquez, Honda’s leader in MotoGP. “That was already a spectacular year after he caught our attention with his Moto3 title. So it is evident that, despite his youth, he is already prepared to make the leap to MotoGP ”.

“I already said a long time ago that it seemed to me that Acosta was the next genius”

Johann Zarco – Pramac Ducati MotoGP rider

“It was clear that KTM had to retain a talent like Acosta,” says the Australian Jack Millerwho, possibly, begins to fear that his motorcycle will end up in the hands of the ‘Mazarrón shark’. “It is evident, we have all realized that, that Acosta is now ready to make the leap to MotoGP. He is young, he drives at a very high level and, certainly, I am one of those who expects him to do very well right away, yes ”.

“I already said a long time ago that it seemed to me that Acosta was the next genius,” said the Frenchman. Johann Zarco, which, together with MM93, was, in effect, one of the first to praise the talent of the Murcian. “He has shown a very high technical level, he has undoubtedly created a new riding style, which I think will allow him to adapt very quickly to MotoGP. His age will help him compete from the first moment although, logically, everyone knows that the top category has little to do with Moto3 and Moto2, but Acosta looks like he has a great future, yes”.
