Moldova overthrow Poland, Norway roll against Cyprus

In Group A, Norway easily won against Cyprus (3-1) on Tuesday night in qualifying for Euro 2024. Ola Solbakken opened the scoring (12th), before Erling Haaland’s double (56th, 60th), propelling him to the top of the ranking of top scorers this season (56 goals) ahead of Kylian Mbappé (54). Grigoris Kastanos saved the honor at the end of the match (90th + 3).

Due to inclement weather, the game between Scotland and Georgia was over an hour late. In the meantime, Norway moves up to 3rd provisional rank, while Cyprus remains dead last.

In Group E, Moldova overthrew Poland (3-2), yet well launched by Arek Milik (12th) and Robert Lewandowski (34th). Ion Nicolaescu scored twice (48th, 79th), then Vladyslav Baboglo scored the winning goal (85th). In the other match, Albania won against the Faroe Islands (3-1). The Eagles climb to second place, one point behind the Czech Republic, leader. Moldova climbs to 3rd place, ahead of Poland, in bad shape in this group.

In Group G, Hungary did the right job by dominating Lithuania (2-0), while at the same time, Serbia was hooked in Bulgaria (1-1). These two results offer the first place to the Hungarians, who have returned to the level of the Serbs in the standings, but who have a better goal difference. Montenegro, free on Tuesday, retains third place.
