MLB: Air quality causes Rogers Center roof to close

The Toronto Blue Jays will play tonight’s game against the Houston Astros with the Rogers Center roof closed due to poor air quality caused by wildfires in Ontario and Quebec.

In a press release, the Jays organization mentioned “that if Environment Canada indicates that the air quality is improving, the roof may be open”.

Toronto will reach level seven on the air quality index on Wednesday afternoon, which Environment Canada says is considered a high risk.

Environment Canada added that the index could reach nine in Toronto on Thursday afternoon.
