Mercato: Francesco Farioli close to becoming the coach of OGC Nice

Negotiations have advanced in recent hours and Italian coach Francesco Farioli (34) appears more than ever to be the preferred track to sit on the bench at OGC Nice next season. After thinking of Régis Le Bris, from whom Lorient does not wish to part, the Aiglons have chosen to turn to the Italian coach who has just gained experience at Alanyaspor.

According to our information, there are only a few details left to settle so that the technician takes the reins of the team at the resumption. The ambition of the Aiglons was to find a rather young coach, with attractive game ideas to succeed Didier Digard. A profile validated by the Nice board which hopes to finalize the operation for a possible presentation at the beginning of next week.

Francesco Farioli remains an unknown coach in France, but he quickly convinced management with his speech. Spotted by Roberto De Zerbi, he went from goalkeeping coach at Sassuolo to head coach of Karagümrük in the Super Lig (Turkey) to earn a serious rating on the market in recent months.

In an interview for Onze Mondial in February, Farioli confided about his style: “Football is joy, sharing, being part of something bigger, as a team, community, culture. “ Karel Geraerts and Marcelo Gallardo are the other names who had circulated to take the post in Nice, but it seems that the Ghisolfi-Bocquet tandem has chosen to look elsewhere.
