The second division soccer club SC Paderborn has pulled off a big coup: the club signed the former national player Max Kruse.

The long-standing Bundesliga professional had previously successfully completed the medical check at the SCP. Paderborn did not provide any information about the contract period. Kruse was recently without a club.

“The talks were very good right from the start and convinced me. I don’t want to talk so much because in the end I will show my performance on the pitch,” Kruse was quoted as saying by the club in the press release: “There’s actually only I have three things to say: I’m really into football, I’m hungry for success and I want to attack at the top with SC Paderborn 07.”

Weber: “Leadership and experience”

Max’s footballing qualities and goal instinct are undisputed, said Managing Director Sport Benjamin Weber: “His leadership and his experience at national and international level will help us a lot.”

Last sorted out in Wolfsburg

At the end of November last year, Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg ended their cooperation with the offensive player. Since then, Kruse had tried in vain to get a follow-up contract. Before joining VfL, Kruse wore the jerseys of Union Berlin, Fenerbahce Istanbul, Werder Bremen, Borussia Mönchengladbach and SC Freiburg.
