‘Luka Modric saddles Real Madrid with a strong hangover’

Is the next big name about to leave Real Madrid? The Royal has already seen Karim Benzema in recent weeks, Eden Hazard, Mariano Díaz and Marco Asensio are looking for other places and now it seems that Modric is also looking for a new challenge and a lot of money.

Modric has an expiring contract with Real, but according to Fabrizio Romano it was not long ago ‘certain’ that this would be extended. Modric would even have turned down some offers from lucrative countries and would especially like to end his career with the Spanish superpower.

A few months later, however, the contract extension is still not complete and, according to Ramón Álvarez de Mon, who works for, among others, Brand, Modric would now also consider a transfer to Saudi Arabia. There, the Croat can earn between 100 and 150 million euros a year.

It is currently unclear which club it is about, but in Saudi Arabia they are doing everything they can to lure the big stars to the Middle East. After Benzema and Ronaldo, among others, Modric would be the third player in a short time to go there.
