Libertas Regional Championship of Judo-Kata

The 1st Regional Libertas Championship of Judo – Kata took place on Tuesday 6 June at the PalaZen in Pordenone in via Pirandello. A new event that has met with moderate success considering that the regional promotional activity of judo-kata in Friuli has not been carried out for some years. The organization of the first event was handled by the Centro Regionale Libertas Friuli Venezia Giula in collaboration with the Polisportiva Villanova Judo Libertas which provided the facility. Participation in the championship was extended to Libertas or Fijlkam members. The title of Libertas regional champion was awarded only to Libertas members and the matches were played with a single pool regardless of the number of pairs. The drawing of the order was carried out during the competition and the evaluation criteria were applied according to the rules foreseen by the EJU-IJF regulation. The matches were directed by Libertas or federation referees (minimum 3 referees). Thanks to the Fijlkam Federation which supported with the presence of competition judges who also came from outside the region. Undoubtedly the new international regulation, which opens the practice to young people with reduced kata, has been a boost to the diffusion and involvement of young people. 18 participating couples, mainly young judocas who alternate the practice of judo with the study of kata belonging to the following associations: Polisportiva Villanova Judo Libertas, Judo Tolmezzo Libertas, Sekai Budo Pordenone, Corpo Libero, Kukori Zoppola Libertas and Kukori Tarcento.
