The news of Sandro Tonali’s transfer to Newcastle (only the official announcement is awaited) will obviously have consequences on the Milan market: the Devil, with his wallet significantly filling up, has entered the Davide Frattesi affair with force and probed the land with Romelu Lukaku. In response, Inter, on the other side of the Naviglio, contacted Marcus Thuram who now seemed to be one step away from Milanello. The steps are fixed: first we have to close with Newcastle, then in the first days of the week there will be a meeting with Sassuolo and there we will have to formalize the advance on Inter who in the meantime, pressed, must make money with Brozovic in a short time if wants to respond to the Rossoneri counterattack. In all this, Reggio Emilia is rejoicing and asking for 40 million.
Yesterday, then, some contacts between AC Milan and Romelu Lukak’s entourage were made known: an action that was interested but also disturbing for Inter, who must now accelerate if they intend to bring the Belgian back to court of Simone Inzaghi. The Nerazzurri can still count on the will of the player, who has decided not to move either to the Rossoneri or (for the moment) to Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile Marotta and his team tried to reply to the disturbance and, yesterday, raised for Marcus Thuram. The French striker is also an old passion for the Nerazzurri who had looked for him last winter but, in recent weeks and after Maldini’s sacking, it was Milan who put pressure on the player. Our opinion: an inevitable domino effect that will act as a leitmotif throughout the summer at Milan: Tonali’s departure (and Bennacer’s return only in 2024) will force the Rossoneri managers to work, and not a little, on the midfield in market key. The duel with Inter between real interests and mere disruptive works will also be exciting.
The interview with Frattesi
Davide Frattesi, the object of desire of all the big names in Italy, including Milan and Inter as mentioned, spoke in an exclusive interview with the Gazzetta dello Sport and revealed: “But you will understand that this time I can’t be without filters like in the other interviews. It would not be correct to indicate a team because negotiations can die suddenly. But I will try to be extremely sincere: I have chosen the team. And I am sure that my agent will find a way to satisfy me, otherwise I will send him… to sea. But I feel that there are other companies interested in me. Discriminating? The role: I’m a midfielder and I want to be exploited for my characteristics. I think it’s normal. According to the Corriere dello Sport there is a new name for the Juve midfield: it is Thomas Partey, Ghanaian Arsenal. It is certainly not a new goal for the black and whites, who have been following the evolution of the career of the thirty-year-old who blossomed in Atletico Madrid and has now been with the Gunners shirt for three seasons. Allegri considers him an interesting profile in terms of physical characteristics, as well as technical ones. The Ghanaian would seem willing to listen to Juventus’ proposal, so much so that he would have already given a general ok to the idea of moving to Italy. Just turned 30, Serie A would be the third league out of the top five in Europe of his career. Now we need to talk to Arsenal and here is the crux: Juve has offered the English club 18 million euros, but to complicate the process there is a 40 million offer from the usual Saudi Arabia which, in this period, spares no expense. Thomas seems to prefer, at the moment, the idea of moving to black and white but such a high investment is not within Continassa’s possibilities, which also on other open fronts has collided with requests of this type.
Our opinion: Thomas is a player of substance, of quantity, capable of powerful shots with the ball and chain, as well as ensuring interdiction. He could prove to be the ideal replacement for Rabiot, who is still reflecting on the future.
