Huybrechts (PDC-30) nevertheless started the match excellently. For example, the Antwerp player broke through the darts of Keane Barry (PDC-41) with two 180 throws, good for a 12-darter. The 21-year-old talented ‘Dynamite’ immediately hit back and won four legs in a row.

Our compatriot, who no longer reached the level, still won the next game, but Barry broke through the darts of ‘The Hurricane’ for the third time, who lost 6-2.

With that he did a potentially bad thing in view of the World Matchplay (July 15-23), one of the biggest tournaments of the year. Huybrechts is currently placed for that, but there are privateers on the coast such as William O’Connor and Simon Whitlock. They can pass our compatriot if they reach the third round in Trier.

Dimitri Van den Bergh and Mike De Decker are sure of qualification for the Matchplay. In 2020, the first won the tournament.
