Johannes Boe: “There is something going on in Casper Ruud”

Casper Ruud is not the only great sportsman in Norway. Two of his peers, five-time Olympic biathlete Johannes Boe and Olympic 1500m champion Jakob Ingebrigtsen talk about The Team their compatriot who will play the Roland-Garros final on Sunday.

Of course I will watch the final. He’s been very impressive so far. It’s kind of been Norway’s week. It started with Viktor Hovland winning the Memorial Tournament in Golf, then Jakob Ingebrigtsen broke the two-mile world record in Paris, Erling Haaland played the Champions League final and now we have Casper Ruud in the Roland Garros final. For Norway, it’s probably the best week ever!

Jakob Ingebrigtsen “I don’t know him personally. He’s not from the same place as me, but Norway is a small country, so when an athlete does great things, he gets a lot of recognition. We are very proud to be a small country with so many elite athletes. That says a lot about the mentality of Norwegians, the mindset of setting tough goals, and working hard to achieve them. I think there will be a lot of compatriots in the stadium for the grand final. It will be a great day for Norwegian sport. Of course I will support Casper. »
