Inter Miami, Messi’s future team, can’t stop losing

Inter Miami, pending the arrival of Lionel Messi, suffered a sixth straight league defeat on Saturday night against New England (3-1) and remains screwed in last place in the Eastern Conference of Major League Soccer (MLS), the North American professional football league. The future teammates of the sevenfold Ballon d’Or showed a very low level of play, and the exit of French winger Corentin Jean, apparently seriously injured, did not help.

While the debut of Messi, who has just left PSG, in his new colors is not expected for several months, Inter Miami do not seem able to raise their heads since the recent appointment of Javier Morales as interim coach after the sacking of Phil Neville, who had led the team for two and a half seasons. The Florida team was already trailing 3-0 after 51 minutes of the game, and it was not an 84th-minute penalty from Josef Martinez that could have changed the course of things for Inter.
