In their press release, the Irons once again mentioned the “impressive second half of the season” at FC Schalke 04, who, as is well known, were still unable to avoid relegation from the Bundesliga. Alex Kral, who was loaned to the Royal Blues from Spartak Moscow, is now looking for a new challenge.

The Czech international, 25 years old, remains in the Bundesliga and has joined Champions League participants Union Berlin for the coming season. The capital club announced this on Friday afternoon.

Union Managing Director Professional Football Oliver Ruhnert is looking forward to a “regular player in the Czech national team who will fit in well with us thanks to his intense style of play, his technical skills and his mentality.” Right foot Kral is also described in the club report as “robust and strong in the game”.

Kral believes in a short adjustment period

The Czech, who was born in Slovakia, sees the move to Köpenicker as “an important step for me. Since I was already able to get to know the Bundesliga last season, it won’t be difficult for me to get used to it,” believes the 1.87 meter tall newcomer .

Among other things, Kral comes from the youth department of the seven-time Czech champion Slavia Prague, from where he went to Moscow in 2019. In 2021/22 he tried his hand at West Ham United in the Premier League on loan, where he could not really establish himself. Unlike in the past season at FC Schalke 04, where he accumulated 31 competitive appearances. 35 international matches for the Czech Republic (two goals) are also impressive, and Kral took part in the 2021 European Championship for the senior national team.

The Iron Ones did not announce more precise transfer content.
