The Guggenberger Legionnaires Regensburg returned to winning ways on Friday at the start of the 15th matchday of the 2023 season in the 1st Baseball Bundesliga. After five defeats in a row, manager Martin Helmig’s team won 5-1 at the Stuttgart Reds. In an exciting game, the guests from the Upper Palatinate made the decision with two runs each in the eighth and ninth inning. Game two follows on Saturday afternoon at the same place.

The encounter started with a pitcher duel between Johnaikel Acosta and Christian Pedrol. Only one run reached the scoreboard at the beginning. David Dinski gave the visitors a 1-0 lead with an RBI single in the second half. Jannik Denz equalized a section later with an RBI single to make it 1-1.
