Clark Haggans, a linebacker who won a Super Bowl with the Pittsburgh Steelers in a 13-year career that included stints in Arizona and San Francisco, has died. He was 46 years old.
The Larimer County Coroner’s Office said in a statement that they responded to a residence in Fort Collins, Colorado on Monday to investigate the death of a man who was identified as Haggans. The autopsy was completed Wednesday and they will investigate the cause and manner in which he died, the coroner’s office said. It is not evident that there was a crime.
The Steelers took their chances with Haggans selecting him in the fifth round of the 2000 draft. He responded by becoming a special teams ace before being promoted to a starting role opposite Joey Porter on a defense that was regularly ranked among the best in the game. the NFL.
