KOMPAS.com – The coach of the Indonesian national team, Shin Tae-yong alias STY, brought in two new faces ahead of the two FIFA Matchday matches against Palestine and Argentina.
The Indonesian national team will play two matches against Palestine and Argentina on the FIFA Matchday series this June.
Palestine will be the first opponent of the Garuda squad. After that, Shin Tae-yong’s team will try out the strength of the world champion Argentina.
The trial match for the Indonesian vs Palestine national team will be held at the Bung Tomo Stadium, Surabaya, on the upcoming Wednesday (14/6/2023).
Then, the Indonesia vs Argentina match will be held at the Bung Karno Main Stadium, Jakarta, on Monday (19/5/2023).

To face the two FIFA Matchday matches against Palestine and Argentina, Shin Tae-yong brought in two new faces, namely Charis Yulianto and Haryanto Prasetyo.
The two former Indonesian national team players have joined the ranks of the Garuda squad coaches and will help STY work.
According to PSSI’s statement, the joining of Charis and Haryanto to the Garuda squad was STY’s request.
“Of course this will be a very extraordinary experience because this is also very important for my career,” said Haryanto.

Previously, Haryanto Prasetyo had accompanied Shin Tae-yong when the Indonesian U20 national team was training in Turkiye last year.
“Even though this is only a probationary period, this is the second time I have joined Shin Tae-yong. Of course this is an invaluable trust for me,” added the figure who is familiarly called Tommy.
Meanwhile for Charis Yulianto, this is his first opportunity to join the coaching staff of the Garuda squad.
“Of course this is a good opportunity, maybe the same as Tommy, it will be very useful for my career. However, I have to follow the new culture of training implemented by Shin Tae-yong,” said Charis.
The former Indonesian national team defender is indeed quite experienced. He has been an assistant coach at Arema and Persela and has coached Liga 3 club, NZR Sumbersari.

Assistant coach of Persela Lamongan, Charis Yulianto (44) admitted that currently he has more time to be idle after PSSI stopped the League 2 and 3 competitions. Currently, Charis has joined as one of Shin Tae-yong’s assistants in the Indonesian national team.
Charis said that the presence of a colleague in the Garuda squad, namely Nova Arianto, was very helpful to him.
“Having the figure of coach Nova will certainly allow me to make better use of what is implemented in the Indonesian national team,” said Charis.

Meanwhile, Shin Tae-yong has summoned 26 players to the Indonesian national team squad for the two FIFA Matchday matches against Palestine and Argentina.
In the photo uploaded by the PSSI social media account, a number of players called Shin Tae-yong have gathered and are undergoing training in Surabaya since Monday (5/6/2023).
