VERSTAPPEN, ‘A GREAT PLEASURE TO RIDE THIS CAR’
“Driving this car is a great pleasure, I proved it again today. A win here is truly incredible. We had an excellent weekend, that’s what I want to see from me and the team and we hope to continue this year.” . Thus the Dutch Max Verstappen commented hotly on the success in the race in Spain. “There were various strategies with the tires on the track, but I think ours was the right one – continued the world leader, with his 40th victory in Formula 1, the fifth out of seven races of the season -. At the start I had the harder compound and I knew that braking could be difficult in the duel with Sainz. Going a bit to the limit in turn 1 is always rather risky, but luckily nothing happened”.

LECLERC: ‘GREAT INCONSISTENCY WITH THE TIRES, THERE IS TO WORK’
“We have to work hard, we have an incredibly inconsistent car. In the same race we put the same hard tires on twice, in the first part we’re nowhere, in the last part they were fine, but I took the car to the limit in the same way. In these conditions it was very difficult”. Charles Leclerc, to the microphones of Sky Sport, expresses all his disappointment with the outcome of the Spanish GP, which he finished in 11th place “Unfortunately, the car was better today, yesterday I couldn’t ride with the rear that was spinning everywhere. Today, however, the front was the problem, especially in the first stint – continues the Monegasque -. We knew that the most important thing was tire management. We saw the improvements this weekend and we still have a lot to exploit But it was a very difficult race.” Carlos Sainz also found himself in trouble with the tyres, paying for the final fifth place: “I tried them all – he explains – but this is a difficult circuit for us. There is a lot of degradation, many fast corners and in this one we know we don’t be strong. We know our weaknesses, we have opened a window of development for the future and we look forward to tracks where we can go better.”
