The Texas Rangers and probably most of their fans feel they were robbed during Tuesday’s game against the White Sox in Chicago.
The end of the eighth inning caused a controversy that angered many Texas baseball fans. Tied at 6-6, the Rangers thought they had earned the third out when catcher Jonah Heim tagged runner Elvis Andrus on a throw to home plate. However, following a video replay, the verdict was reversed and the Sox player was declared safe, even if on the disputed sequence, Heim was waiting for him with the ball in his glove. However, the referees determined that the masked man had illegally blocked the way to the plate.

The whole thing did not please the manager of the visitors, Bruce Bochy, who was also expelled from the game for having reprimanded the officials too harshly.
The White Sox take the lead after it’s ruled — after review — that Rangers catcher Jonah Heim didn’t give Elvis Andrus a lane to home plate. Rangers manager Bruce Bochy was ejected.

“Regarding this game, I am stunned. It’s one of the worst decisions I’ve seen and we saw all that on the restart. I don’t understand. I don’t care how many times they wanted to explain their interpretation to me. But in such a situation, you just can’t do that. It’s outrageous and embarrassing,” Bochy told reporters after the 7-6 loss.
Despite this disappointment, the Rangers remain in control in the standings, dominating the American League West Division with a 45-28 record and a five-game lead.
