Conference League Final: See how Eden is changing. People decide where to go with their cars

/VIDEO, PHOTO GALLERY/ Pasted over entrances. Covered on the roof is the official name Fortuna Arena bearing the name of one of Slavia’s football partners. The iconic five-pointed star sadly pokes its three points out from behind the sail. The red and white Eden and its surroundings are transformed into the green and black identity of the final of the UEFA Conference League football. The match between England’s West Ham United and Italy’s ACF Fiorentina will take place on Wednesday, June 7.

The recently deceased club legend František Cipro also had to step down. His tarpaulin at the front of the stadium is gone, replaced by a green and black advertisement for a football match. Only the Slavia Museum successfully defends its name so far, but not the entrance, which has been completely transformed and leads to the UEFA VIP area.

Even the hotel in the bowels of the stadium received a redecoration at the entrance, as well as the entrances to the auditorium or the treasure chests with tickets. Komerční banka also left its window displays to the identity of the European Football Association, whose ATM was “surrounded” by self-adhesive films.

The approaching match can be heard tens and hundreds of meters from the stadium itself. A tent and container town grew up on the vacant lot, and posters appeared on the poles navigating journalists to the accreditation center by the Slavist swimming pool or organizers to the employee canteen, which was created in the aforementioned hotel.

UEFA stepped on Slavia again. The punishment for the Frankfurt euphoria will come later

While the green and black posters are quite indifferent to the locals, the portable signs warning of the prohibition of entry or stopping, on the contrary, aroused emotions. And arguments. On the one hand, questions about where to take the hundreds of cars from the adjacent streets for more than a day, on the other, answers that anyone who has a problem should not live near the stadium.

A number of Vršovice streets will be completely closed or with a parking ban from June 7 until the following morning, some owners will not even be able to get into their car garages.

“Please park your vehicle in time so that it does not have to be towed. Drivers must prepare for the closure of Vladivostocká, U Slavie and U Vršovické hřbitova streets, as well as a ban on stopping in several other streets. We apologize for any complications and thank you for understanding the measures taken,” wrote the Prague 10 City Hall on the website and social networks.

“It’s very funny that you simply ban residents who pay for parking there and hand it over to 20 Tons from UEFA. Even though there is a department store next door, in which you can easily rent one floor for an event like this,” Jarda Barták, for example, responded on Facebook.

“They need to secure places to organize the event. Unfortunately, the fact that we live there does not guarantee us the right to park in front of the house, nor does a residence card. They simply paid for the seizure,” said Tomáš Krajcr more conciliatoryly.

The only thing that can perhaps reassure the residents of the surrounding houses is the fact that both the organizers and the town hall promise that there will be no accompanying event around the stadium, so that only fans with a ticket will come to Prague 10. Other football fans from London or Florence will be directed by the security service and the police to Prague 7. One fan zone will be on Letenská plana for West Ham fans, the other at the Exhibition Center for Fiorentina fans. The program is made by UEFA with representatives of both clubs.

However, it will still be possible to meet fans of one of the clubs. The Italians will come by train from Holešovice. The police will then take the English team to the Želivského station on metro A, and from there they will walk to the stadium.
