Coach Postecoglou to Tottenham – First Australian – Sport

Ange Postecoglou becomes Tottenham Hotspur’s new team manager. The 57-year-old has been given a contract with the troubled Londoners until the summer of 2027. Postecoglou was head coach at Celtic Glasgow for two years and is now the first Australian coach in the history of the Premier League. “Ange brings a positive mentality and a fast, attacking style of play,” said Tottenham club boss Daniel Levy.

The Spurs had been looking for a coach since the separation from Antonio Conte at the end of March, and Thomas Tuchel and Julian Nagelsmann were also considered candidates in the meantime. Most recently, Cristian Stellini and Ryan Mason took care of the team as interim coaches, with Tottenham finishing eighth in the league under Mason. Postecoglou has only coached in Japan, Australia, Greece and Scotland.
