The sky fell on the head of the Toronto Blue Jays in the eighth inning, when the Minnesota Twins scored eight runs to save themselves with a 9-4 victory Saturday afternoon at Rogers Centre.
Because of Minnesota’s win on Saturday, the Torontonians won’t be able to win a fifth straight series.

Carlos Correa orchestrated this winning push for the visitors, in the top of the eighth inning, slamming a grand slam. Teammate Max Kepler delivered the knockout blow later in the set with a three-point slap.
Everything had however started well for the men of John Schneider. They were ahead by three points before the Twins opened the machine.
Nathan Lukes, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Whit Merrifield and Santiago Espinal each had an RBI in the losing cause.
Blue Jays reliever Trevor Richards was converted to starting pitcher for Saturday afternoon’s game. He replaced Alek Manoah, who was supposed to have the start but was assigned to the rookie-level Florida Training Complex League on Tuesday.
Richards did his team a good service by allowing the opposition just one hit in three full innings of work.
A first game in Toronto for Édouard Julien
Quebecer Édouard Julien did well in his first career game at the Rogers Center in Toronto.
He had two hits and earned his first major league steal. The 24-year-old was the leadoff hitter on the Twins’ offensive lineup.
The Quebec City native was recalled by the Minnesota organization on Friday, after being demoted by the Minnesota organization on 1is last June.
In 20 games this season, he has homered four times; his batting average is .246.
Elly De La Cruz s’illustrates once again in a Reds win
Young Cincinnati Reds sensation Elly De La Cruz once again came out on top in an 8-4 triumph for her team at the Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati.
The Dominican drove in a run and stole a base in his fifth career MLB game. De La Cruz has placed the ball in a safe place in all the encounters he has taken part in.
The 21-year-old was excellent in his first major league appearance on Wednesday, hitting two for four at the plate.
