Borussia Dortmund is setting the course for the future and has prematurely extended the contract with assistant coach Armin Reutershahn (63) until June 30, 2025.

Reutershahn joined head coach Edin Terzic’s coaching team in January 2023 after Peter Hermann had previously informed the club that he would no longer be available due to health reasons.
“Armin agreed to a six-month contract with us at very short notice in the winter and immediately supported us in this difficult situation,” begins BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl, adding: “We gave him credit for his willingness back then and said so from the start “that we will talk about a longer-term future after the season. The team and the coaching staff have now been working with him for six months and have gotten to know and appreciate each other. It was therefore our goal, and also the wish of our coach Edin Terzic, that to continue the successful cooperation in this constellation.”

BVB was close to the championship thanks to a fantastic series in the second half of the season, but lost the lead in the table on the last day with a surprising 2-2 win against Mainz 05.
“I really enjoy working with this team of coaches, this team and these employees,” says Reutershahn in a statement on the BVB website: “I expected a very emotional environment at a traditional club like BVB – and I’m glad that That’s exactly what came true. I’m proud to be able to help BVB, together with my colleagues, to become even more successful in sport.”
Keywords for the 2023/24 season are even more successful: BVB failed in the round of 16 of the Champions League and in the quarter-finals of the DFB Cup last season, and the aim is to go even higher in the new season. Before joining BVB, Reutershahn had already worked for Eintracht Frankfurt and VfB Stuttgart.
