Bilbao hosts an exhibition with more than 100 ‘jerseys’ representative of Basque cycling and the Tour de France

The Ensanche Building in Bilbao is hosting an exhibition with more than a hundred ‘jerseys’ representative of Basque cycling and the 110-year history of the Tour de France.

As reported by the City Council of the Biscayan capital, the collection, owned by Adrián Jiménez Rubio, an Asturian cycling enthusiast, will make it possible to discover Basque cycling and the French event from a unique perspective.

The sample is divided into two sections. The first of them, on June 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 10 and 11 from 10:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., will exhibit the ‘jerseys’ and time trial divers of Basque and Itzulia cyclists and teams.

The second half of June, on the 16th, 17th, 18th, 22nd, 23rd, 24th and 25th at the same time, the jerseys of the Tour de France grand prix (yellow, green, polka dot and white jerseys) will be on display ), together with special editions of some sets.

Each garment will have a brief description that will serve to identify and meet the cyclist and classify the year that wore it. In addition, Santini, official sponsor of the gala round, has lent eight official ‘jerseys’ of the 2023 edition for the event, two from each recognition of the test.

COMPLETE COLLECTION

In addition to team elastics (KAS, Euskaltel, SKY, Movistar, Astana, Quick Step) and current or popular cyclists (Mikel Landa, Omar Fraile, Pello Bilbao, Izagirre brothers or González de Galdeano, Joseba Beloki, Abraham Olano, Mikel Nieve, Haimar Zubeldia, Juanma Garate, Bingen Fernández) you can also enjoy “true jewels” such as the world champion jersey with the Cofidis team by Igor Astarloa, the mythical Mapei GB 1996 jerseys by Javier Mauleón and the ‘Giro d’Italia’ version ‘ by Jon Unzaga, among others.

Itzulia leader’s jerseys are also included, including those of Vingegaard, Roglic and Alejandro Valverde, among others.

As for the kits that distinguish the best of the Tour de France, you can admire the yellow jerseys of active cyclists such as Tadej Pogacar or Chris Froome and those already retired such as Miguel Indurain, Bernard Hinault, Eddy Merckx, Alberto Contador, Carlos Tailor and Luis Ocana.
