Belgian driver Thierry Neville wins the WRC stage in Italy

Neville (“Hyundai Shell Mobis”), who was third for a long time, took the lead in the 14th stage, when technical problems hit the current leader, French racing driver Sebastien Ogier, and he managed to overtake Finnish teammate Esapek Lapi, who was in second place.

At the finish line, Neville Lapi was ahead of him by 33 seconds, and Finland’s Kalli Rovanperi (Toyota Gazoo), who finished in third place, by one minute and 55.3 seconds.

Neville won six stages, driving particularly well on the final day.

Estonian Ots Tenaks (“M-Sport Ford”) was the fastest in two stages, who ranked 13th overall in the Italian stage.

In the overall ranking, Rovanpere still holds the first position with 118 points, followed by Nevil with 93 points and Tenak with 85 points.

There will be 13 rounds of the WRC this season, with the eighth in a row taking place in Estonia in July. It is planned that next season Latvia will make its debut in the WRC calendar with a stage.

In the previous season, former Latvian champion Kalle Rovanpere from Finland was crowned the champion.
