Baseball M17AAA: The Riverains of Bas-St-Laurent are ready to compete against anyone

The Riverains in the M17AAA category have concluded their first 10-game bracket. With a record of 3 wins and 7 losses. It had started well with 3 wins in 4 games. All the same, the Bas-St-Laurent club has everything it takes to compete against regions with larger pools.

“I’ve seen so many of baseball as I can help them on the mound and help them mentally, how to get ready for a game or the little things; like knowing when to warm up before entering the game and how to do it. That’s where I can help them and I can bring them a small facet of the game,” said pitching manager Dany Paradis-Giroux.

On the mound, the native gunner of Grand Falls, Zachary Morin, wants to help the young pitchers who accompany him in the rotation of starters.

“I want to take my role as a veteran to heart, I’m happy to still be here and we have a good group of guys this summer, it’s a nice area and I’m happy to be here again this season.”

The Sphinx baseball sports-study member has already signed up with Collège Laflèche in Trois-Rivières for the next year to continue his development on the field.

“I want to be the best pitcher I can this summer and get ready for the college level so I can be good on the mound and keep developing that way.”

To do this, he can learn from the excellent #19 of the Braves Batitech du Témiscouata. However, in his first experience as co-instructor of the Riverains, Dany Paradis-Giroux does not want to skip the steps in his new role.

“Given it’s my first season, it’s hard to assess, I’ve played in this caliber and I know a little about the level what it looks like, but I think we’ll always manage to get our Pin.”
