‘Badminton Without Barriers’ continues to be supported by the Atlantic Copper Foundation

The Atlantic Copper Foundation has signed a collaboration agreement with the Andalusian Badminton Federation by which it maintains its status as official sponsor of the ‘Badminton without Barriers’ project, an initiative that seeks that all people with physical or intellectual disabilities who want to start practicing this sport can do so.

The agreement, which has been signed by Antonio de la VegaCEO of the Foundation, and Juan Carlos Longopresident of the Andalusian Badminton Federation, will promote the development of this project based on three pillars: health, integration and self-improvement.

«The Atlantic Copper Foundation has a long history of collaboration with the sport of badminton and we are more than grateful to be able to be part of this beautiful project. Badminton has become a sport emblem of our land and being able to lend our grain of sand to make it accessible to the whole of society is a real honor. Collaborating on this project with the Andalusian Federation fully satisfies us”, Antonio de la Vega wanted to point out.

For his part, the president of the Andalusian Badminton Federation, Juan Carlos Longo, recognized that the ‘Badminton without Barriers’ project “is very exciting for our Federation, since it seeks to promote inclusion in this sport. We have worked hard to design and implement this project, and over the past two years we have seen a steady growth in user and association participation. We appreciate the effort of our Federation and its technicians, as well as the support of the Atlantic Copper Foundation. Our goal is to expand and make a significant impact in the short term.”

Fostering self-improvement

The main objectives of the ‘Badminton without barriers’ project are to promote healthy sports practice, moving away from competitive sports; initiate and promote the modality of parabadminton at competitive level; integrate into the practice of badminton people with physical and intellectual disabilities; promote personal self-improvement through sport, as well as social inclusion in all possible areas and situations, in addition to expanding inclusive badminton in Andalusia.
