On the occasion of the 1/8 finals of the Singapore Open, the Indonesian Ginting faced the Canadian Yang for a place in the quarter-finals.
The Indonesian Ginting had some difficulty to win, but once the first set was won, he went on to finally win 21/19, 21/11. The world number 2 therefore qualifies for the rest of the competition and will face the Chinese Li SF in the quarter-finals.
