Little participation of fans in the arrival of the first boat

Only three of the five IMOCAs that left Alicante in January have arrived in Genoa. Malizia, winner of this last stage; Biotherm, which was second and Holcim-PRB, third, before a low participation of fans, something never seen in a round-the-world oceanic regatta.
The other two IMOCAs in the fleet, the 11th Hour Racing Team and GUYOT – Team Europe, were forced to retire shortly after the start after a collision.
Therefore, the overall IMOCA fleet classification in The Ocean Race remains ‘provisional’ pending the redress request that 11th Hour Racing Team has submitted after being hit by GUYOT Environnement, Team Europe shortly after exit and acknowledge responsibility for the incident.
The World Sailing International Jury will hear the request for redress on Thursday. With today’s results, Charlie Enright’s 11th Hour Racing Team is just one point behind Team Holcim-PRB, so any offset of one point or more will earn the team overall victory in The Ocean Race.
The worst round the world tour in history ended with the participation of only 5 boats of which two have not finished it.
