After Leaving Viktoria Plzeň, Pavel Horváth Takes on New Coaching Role at Jiskry Domažlice

After the end on the bench of Viktoria Plzeň, forty-eight-year-old Pavel Horváth did not remain without work for long. In the next season, he will lead the footballers of Jiskry Domažlice in the ČFL. “His contract in Pilsen has ended and as part of the cooperation we have with Viktorka, Pavel Horváth is moving to Domažlice,” confirmed Jaroslav Ticháček, the club’s president, on Monday early evening.

“We all loved him as a player and we trust him as a coach. We like his football philosophy, we want to play attacking football so that the spectators like him. Pavel recognized this as a player and now as a coach,” added the head of Domažlica Jiskry.

Coach Vaigl said goodbye to Domažlice, he is going to Senco. Who will replace him in Spark?

This year, they won one of the ČFL groups, but on their way to the second league, they were stopped in the tie by Viktoria Žižkov (0:0, 0:4). But the team from Chodsk is not going to just give up on their dream. He wants to strive for promotion in the coming season as well, and Pavel Horváth, who replaced Pavel Vaigl, will help him as a coach.

He left Jiskra at his own request after six years and will lead the Doubravka division. “Pavel did a great job here, he crowned it with this year’s triumph. I would like to continue what he started here. I hope we will be just as good,” Pavel Horváth praised his predecessor. “I would like to play offensive football, score a lot of goals,” he emphasized his philosophy. Petr Dobrý remains the assistant.

“We wanted to maintain some continuity,” explained the president of Jiskry Domažlice and confirmed again that he has ambitions for the second league. “We will do everything for this, not only on the pitch, but we are also improving the facilities. We started it before the barrage. Advancement to the second league is our goal,” repeated Ticháček.

“This challenge must be accepted. On the stand here hangs the banner Jiskra has it. We will try to support it on the pitch. I promise that I will do everything for it,” continued Pavel Horváth. “Of course it’s football, anything can happen, but we’ll fight for it,” he added.

In his case, one could write that the circle is closing, because he trained in Domažlice once before. After the end of his active career in Viktoria Plzeň eight years ago, he led the entire preparation and one ČFL match in Jiskra, but then Adolf Šádek took him back to Pilsen to become one of Karel Krejčí’s assistants.

“I feel at home here. It wasn’t easy for me to leave then, even though I liked returning to Viktorka. I was happy in Domažlice, the team was working,” Horváth returned in the summer of 2015.

“During those eight years, I managed to learn something from more experienced colleagues, I tried something myself,” he recalled, adding that he had already been the head coach in Sokolov, Příbram and Béčka Pilsen. Now he is embarking on a Domažlica mission for the second time, and again it is shortly after an unsuccessful attempt to advance to the second league.

I appreciate it, I have respect and I’m looking forward to it, says the new coach of Klato football players
