The first edition of the martial arts night in Burkina Faso was held this Friday, June 9, 2023 in the martial arts room of the ISSD, ex INJEP of Ouagadougou under the theme “Martial arts and the fight against terrorism”. Six martial arts federations including Karate Do, Judo, Taekwondo, Vovinam Viet Vo-Dao, Kung Fu Wushu and Vo Vietnam participated in this edition articulated by kata demonstrations.

To find an alternative, the actors on the front line of this discipline initiated a night dedicated to these arts, the first edition of which was held this Friday, June 9, 2023.
“Martial arts and the fight against terrorism” is the theme chosen for this first edition. A way for the organizing committee to mark the quintessence of this discipline in this fight against terrorism.
« The objective is to support the elements of the FDS. They are part of our federations. It is necessary that in our federations, we unite to see how we can help in training and education. That’s why this kind of initiative. It is a successful bet. The level was good for all these federations », indicated the president of the organizing committee, Jean Conseibo.
For the minister in charge of sports, Boubacar Savadogo, president of this night, the arts contain in them a visible and invisible force which is a force of reconciliation in oneself. A value that he wants to perpetuate on the national situation.
« Che evening I am overjoyed to see these enthusiastic young people. Today we want the values that are shown by these disciplines to be able to flow into other sectors of education. Because it is in discipline that we can build this country. They showed values of dignity, resilience, everything Burkina Faso needs today,” added the minister.
The Minister of State in charge of Defence, Kassoum Coulibaly, was the sponsor of this first edition. In turn, he congratulated the holding of such a night, while hoping that it will continue in the years to come. ” It was a great pleasure to be in front of these athletes. It is the mind that makes the strength of the athletes. And it is this resilience, this mentality and this commitment that we wanted the FDS and VDP to have at all times”, he let know.
This night, which aims to be a framework for expression, cohesion and fraternity between the martial disciplines practiced in Burkina Faso, intends to last over time. For their commitment to support this initiative, authorities have been rewarded with certificates.
