Paweł Kotwica has been a sports journalist for Echo Dnia for nearly 30 years. He was an excellent expert, a great expert in handball. He reported many tournaments with the participation of the Polish national team or his beloved team, Polish champions – Barlinek Industrii Kielce. Paweł Kotwica was also at this year’s Final Four tournament in Cologne. In the second half of the final match against SC Magdeburg he lost consciousness. Unfortunately, his life could not be saved. He died at the age of 51.

The European Handball Federation will honor Paweł Kotwica
The European Handball Federation decided to honor Paweł Kotwica.
– Paweł Kotwica will always remain part of the Final Four of the Champions League. During the next editions, the place it occupied will be reserved for him and will remain empty. In addition, the Lanxess Arena offered Paweł’s family and closest friends the opportunity to visit the venue at any time – said Thomas Schoenich, EHF spokesman in an interview with TVP Sport.
This is not the only beautiful gesture after the death of Paweł Kotwica. Barlinek Industria Kielce has already announced that it will reserve the seat occupied by the deceased journalist in the press stand in the Legions Hall. – You don’t even know how much this club owes you… Your place on the press stand in Hala Legionów will be reserved – wrote the Kielce club.
The funeral of Paweł Kotwica will take place on Wednesday, June 28 in the church of Saint Vincent Pallotti on Fosforytowa Street in Kielce. The funeral mass will begin at 1 p.m., and further celebrations will take place at the New Cemetery at Ściegiennego Street in Kielce.
