A bear as the mascot of the UEFA Euro 2024 organized in Germany, it’s up to you to choose its name

Just over a year from the Euro 2024 football tournament organized in Germany, UEFA unveils the look of the official mascot. A presentation will take place this evening on the occasion of the friendly match between the Mannschaft and Colombia.

For this mascot, face of the competition and head of the gondola of UEFA Euro 2024 merchandise, the organization has bet on a bear in homage to the very popular teddy bear (“Teddybär”) in Germany.

“As a parent, I know how important it is to capture children’s imaginations. With the presentation of the tournament mascot, we hope to create a funny and sympathetic character who will be a source of inspiration for all of us.”explains Phillip Lahm, director of the Euro 2024 tournament, in a press release.

It’s up to you to choose its name among 4 proposals

Note that for the moment, the mascot of UEFA Euro 2024 does not yet have a name. Until July 3, 2023, fans will be able to vote between Albart, Bärnardo, Bärnheart and Herzi from Bär. Present in all the proposed names, “Bär” means bear in German.

A mascot which will notably have mission to encourage millions of children across Europe to get active.
