20-year-old Valentin Bézout Receives Black Belt in Judo, Highlights Importance of Respect and Self-Control

“Our judo club, in Chanteau, is particularly proud to count among our judokas Valentin Bézout, 20 years old who has just received his black belt”, says Julien Morisseau, secretary.

This solemn moment allowed Valentin to recount his career: “I started judo at the age of 5, at the Chanteau club where I had Christelle Boucher as teachers, then Rudolphe Méchin and Patrick Méry. To win the black belt, I had to go to Saint-Jean-de-Braye, to prepare the kata with a partner from Smoc, Stéphane Méchin. Then, go to Vennecy for refereeing and, finally, pass the shiai to obtain the 100 points necessary for the black belt. »

Respect, self-control…

The youngster obtained them in March, which allowed him to receive the belt in April from the hands of Stéphane Méchin. “But I wanted this discount to be formalized at Chanteau, a club where I am still a member. It was Patrick (Méry), my teacher, who gave me the black belt and I am very honored. “The town hall of Chanteau also gave him a check for 50 euros and the club a voucher.

Valentin Bézout does not intend to stop there: “Obviously, I continue judo. It’s a sport that teaches you respect, self-control and control”.
