Cleveland Browns defensive end Za’Darius Smith suffered a knee injury last season while playing for the Vikings.
He had 9.5 sacks in the first 9 games with the Vikings but due to knee pain, Smith only made 0.5 in the last 8 meetings.
Za’Darius Smith was traded a few weeks ago to the Browns and recently spoke about the condition of his knee.
“I couldn’t rest last year because every game I think I was making around $200,000 just to dress up” said Za’Darius Smith. “You would dress up too… It was different for me.” I had the chance to rest my knee, to do rehabilitation. I trained with my trainer in Orlando and worked here and felt nothing. I feel perfectly fine,” finished the new Cleveland player.
The Browns have, in exchange for Smith, yield a choice of 5e round aux Vikings.
It will surely be seen as a small price to pay if Za’Darius Smith manages to stay productive and in good shape this season.
