WTA: Eugenie Bouchard wins in Italy over Diletta Cherubini

Quebecer Eugenie Bouchard won in Florence, Italy on Tuesday.

The Westmount player defeated the Italian Diletta Cherubini in two identical sets of 6-4.

In addition, the Canadian Katherine Sebov defeated the Hungarian Anna Bondar by abandonment in Paris.

Sebov had won the first set 6-3 and was leading the second set 3-0 when his opponent retired.

In the next round tomorrow, Sebov will cross swords with the Czech Linda Noskova.

For her part, Carol Zhao bowed her back to American Katie Volynets, who won 6-0, 7-6.
