With 201 players, the sixth Souillac badminton tournament breaks records

The sixth tournament organized by the badminton section of Athlé 46, which took place this Ascension weekend, was a resounding success. 201 players from 52 clubs and 18 departments, sometimes far away, came to Souillac to take part in this sporting event in a good mood and conviviality.

382 encounters on three players

About twenty volunteers from the badminton section, well-knit around its dynamic president Marc Pivaudran, worked hard to prepare, organize, set up the courts and even feed the participants.

Singles, doubles and mixed doubles were on the program and 382 matches took place over the three days, under the supervision of the Brive referee: Laurence Urbaniak. About fifty awards, based on local products, most often offered by sponsors, were given to the winners and finalists.

Two players achieved the grand slam by winning the three tables in which they were involved: Sébastien Prestreau from Badminton Brive and the local Clémentine Pont d’Athlé 46 badminton Souillac, a big congratulations to them for this performance. Among the other good results on the Souillagais side, we note the victory in the women’s doubles series 3 of Nadine Aubertin and Céline Collette, as well as that in the men’s doubles series 5 of Arnaud Faggiano, associated with David Platt (Ivry) and the place of finalist for Antoine Aubertin in men’s singles series 3.
