Will the release of the schedule be postponed?

The schedule for the 2023 NFL season should actually be published next Thursday evening (local time). Now there is a report that the release of the schedule may have to be pushed back.

As “NBC” reporter Peter King reports, it cannot be ruled out that the league will be able to publish the game plan as planned in an evening show on Thursday, but a postponement of the whole thing currently seems more likely.

NFL: “Mega-Games” are probably the problem

“As was brought to my attention over the weekend, it is possible that the NFL will not get the schedule ready on time,” Kings said. Apparently, the “mega-games” in particular play a major role.

The opening game, the Sunday and Monday night games, the Thanksgiving games, the new Black Friday game and the Christmas games seem to be troubling NFL officials. “Nothing is set in stone yet,” says King.

Computers are working on the schedule of 272 games

Actually, these “mega games” are scheduled for the beginning of May – this doesn’t seem to be the case at the moment. According to the report, the schedule crew will meet with Commissioner Roger Goodell in New York in a timely manner to provide clarity on these games.

According to King, the NFL is still looking for a fix for the 272 regular-season games. Several computers are therefore working on alternatives.
