“We’re not done yet”: Terzic and BVB believe in the championship

It is well known that BVB is a home power. The numbers are impressive: Including the 5-2 on Saturday evening against an initially “slaughtered” Gladbach, Dortmund has won eleven in a row at Signal-Iduna-Park – and scored 46 goals in the process.

The outstanding players this time: Donyell Malen (eight goals and five assists in the last eight Bundesliga games), who has been playing furiously for weeks, and Sebastien Haller (three goals and four assists in the last three games). This time, the two were responsible for three goals and four assists against the foals, which also meant Haller’s second brace in BVB dress – and the first goal in two consecutive league games.

You could also see Haller’s joy at this personal success. In an interview with “Sky”, the 28-year-old striker, who was out between July 2022 and January 2023 due to a testicular tumor including the necessary operations, said: “I enjoy every day that I’m on the field and with the guys in the cabin can be.”

“In 2023 you can see that we are the best team in Germany”

His goal is to get better and better with his teammates in order to achieve great things with the club in the end. Because: “We have to know each other very well in order to create many things.”

And many things had also been created on Saturday. In his opinion, the duel with Gladbach showed just how strong BVB was at the beginning: “In 2023 you can see that we are the best team in Germany. And we want to keep it that way.” In terms of the championship fight on the two final match days and also beyond that with a view to the new season in the German Oberhaus or the Champions League.

His congenial attacking partner Malen added: “I dream of the championship trophy. That’s how we play.”

Terzic: “Bayern have to step on the gas, we will step on the gas”

For the moment, however, the offensive black and yellow could only keep up the pressure on Bayern Munich. With two games to go, the Westphalians are still one point behind after FCB’s 6-0 win over Schalke 04 this Saturday.

But hope dies last, that’s what coach Edin Terzic, who was not quite satisfied about the second section with a bit of final tension after two Gladbach goals (“In the second half, there’s a lot to complain about”), did before the final two tasks in Augsburg ( Sunday, 5:30 p.m.) and against Mainz (May 27, 3:30 p.m.) once again: “We’re not done yet, we still have two tasks to do. We showed today that we will believe in it to the end and until the will end up chasing everything.” The 40-year-old emphasized: “Bayern have to step on the gas, we will step on the gas.”

Terzic took it easy that his team could only catch up again on the coming 33rd matchday. “We’ll be on the training ground at half past three,” revealed the coach, referring to Saturday evening – the day when Bayern Munich play against RB Leipzig from 6:30 p.m. Things get serious for BVB the following day at FC Augsburg (5.30 p.m.).
