Vinícius: “The prize that the racists got was my expulsion”

Madrid, May 21 (EFE).- The Brazilian Vinícius Junior, Real Madrid footballer, reacted on his social networks after having suffered racist insults and, later, after a brawl in which he hit Hugo Duro, receiving a red card, and assured that “the prize” that “the racists got” was their expulsion.

“The prize that the racists got was my expulsion. It’s not football, it’s LaLiga,” he shared in a story on his official Instagram account.

Minutes later, Vinícius wrote a more extensive reaction on Twitter in which he insisted on his idea that there is permissiveness with racists.

“It was not the first time, nor the second, nor the third. Racism is normal in La Liga. The competition considers it normal, the Federation also and the rivals encourage it. I am very sorry. The championship that once belonged to Ronaldinho , Ronaldo, Cristiano and Messi now belongs to the racists,” he said.

In addition, he assured that in his country, Brazil, Spain is known as a “racist country.”

“A beautiful nation, which welcomed me and the one I love, but which has agreed to export to the world the image of a racist country. I am sorry for the Spanish who do not agree, but today, in Brazil, Spain is known as a country of racists. And, unfortunately, for everything that happens every week, I have no way of defending it. I agree, “he continued.

“But I am strong and I will go to the end against the racists. Even if it is far from here,” he completed.

Vinícius who denounced racist insults by a fan in the 70th minute of the match played between Valencia and Real Madrid at Mestalla (1-0). These, as revealed later by his partner Lucas Vázquez, were to make the monkey gesture to the Brazilian.

The match was stopped for eight minutes and, despite the fact that the Brazilian did not want to play again at first, he decided to do so after a conversation with his coach, the Italian Carlo Ancelotti.

Later, already in the seventh minute of added time, Vinícius demanded that Yunus Musah delay the restart of the game after holding the ball before a corner kick, which caused a brawl between several players, with the Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili going for the Brazilian to rebuke him.

In this, Hugo Duro grabbed Vinícius by the neck and he, after getting rid of it, hit the Valencia forward with his arm in the face; which, after being reviewed in the VAR, ended in the expulsion of Vinícius.

Later, while he was leaving the Mestalla pitch, he repeatedly gestured to the Valencia fans that they were going to be relegated to the Second Division; which formed another tangana.
