Valencia Basket wins the Women’s League for the first time

Rubn Burgos’s team prevailed in the second game of the final 69-81 against CB Avenida in Salamanca

Valencia Basket won this Sunday its first Women’s League title after winning the second match on the court of Perfumeras Avenida de Salamanca (69-81).

The team led by Rubn Burgos has achieved with this victory the fourth title in the history of the women’s section of the club after having won the 2021 Euro Cup, the 2021 Spanish Super Cup and the European Super Cup that same year.

The team will celebrate this achievement today with its fans. The club has prepared a first act for this same afternoon at La Fonteta with the followers and leave the traditional visit to the institutions for later.

Five years since the promotion

Valencia Basket was promoted to the highest category of Spanish basketball on April 29, 2018, in a match against Celta that gave way to a successful first five years in the elite.

The Fonteta club announced in the summer of 2014 that integrate into its structure the lower categories of the Ríos Casares, who had made his senior professional disappear two years before after being proclaimed champion of the Euroleague. He would do it, he remarked, without a professional team.
