(ANSA) – ROME, MAY 21 – The president of Fifa, Gianni Infantino, has expressed his condolences for the tragic death of a dozen people in Salvador, crushed in the crush of fans who were trying to enter the Estadio Cuscatlan, in the capital San Salvator, to attend a championship match. “I express my deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims who lost their lives after the tragic incidents that took place in El Salvador,” Infantino said.
“Together with Fifa and the global football community, all our thoughts and prayers are with those affected, as well as the people of the Republic of Salvador, the Concacaf Confederation, the Salvadoran Football Federation and the Primera Division de Futbol de El Salvador, in this difficult moment,” Infantino added.
