Decisive in the last three meetings, Karl Toko Ekambi (30 years old, 15 games and 3 goals in L1 with Rennes this season) may have woken up too late. The striker on loan without an option to buy from Olympique Lyonnais did not convince Stade Rennais to conclude his permanent transfer.
“His future beyond June is not written in Rennes”, writes the newspaper L’Equipe, which almost excludes a return to Lyon. The Cameroonian international remains under contract until 2024, but his difficult relationship with Rhone supporters seems to represent an insurmountable obstacle.
Toko Ekambi will therefore be attentive to possible offers this summer.
