Tobías Vidal became Argentine runner-up and was summoned to the DAR program – El Periódico

The San Francisco Tobias Vidal was enshrined this Saturday Argentine judo runner-up in the National Opening that takes place this weekend in Formosa.

The judoka from Dojo Maldonado (Cba) climbed to the podium in the Cadet category up to 66 kg., the same division in which he became provincial champion a few weeks ago.

He is also a provincial champion Junior up to 66kg and Senior up to 66g. In 2022 he had become champion in the National Opening in category Cweights up to 60 kg and that same division was enshrined in the Tierra del Sol International Championship in Formosa. He was provincial champion in the same year and a bronze medal in 2021.

These results allowed him to be selected for the DAR (High Performance Development) program carried out by the National Entity for High Performance Sports (ENARD) and whose objective is to promote and accompany young Argentine athletes with national and international projection. Vidal will be participating from May 24 to 31 in an international campus that will take place at CENARD (National Center for High Performance Sports) in the city of Buenos Aires.

The local judoka will work with the coaching staff of the Argentine Judo Team, integrated among others by the Olympic champion Paula Pareto.
