RTVE Playz is about to premiere ‘Pornexplotación’, the new documentary series Mabel Lozano about the pornography industry and the victims of sexual exploitation, extortion and blackmail linked to it. The Goya winner for Best Documentary Short Film in 2021 for ‘Biography of a Woman’s Corpse’ directs this docuseries that analyzes the harsh reality that is hidden behind the porn industry, with testimonies from captured and exploited women, porn actors, addicts, victims of sextortion and experts, who will arrive on the digital platform of the corporation on June 8.

Produced by Secuoya Studios, the docuseries recounts the high price paid in porn on both sides of the screen: the victims who are the stars of an opaque industry that hides sexual exploitation and trafficking, and those who consume it.

This account of three episodesbased on the homonymous book written by Mabel Lozano and the National Police inspector Pablo J. Conellie de Alrevés Editorial, analyzes the chilling reality of an industry that generates millions of euros trading on economic vulnerability, threats, extortion and blackmail.

Through the stories of women captured to record thousands of hours of sexual content, interviews with retired porn actors, addicts to pornography, parents of adolescent victims of grooming and sextortion, and experts who work with this reality, this documentary draws attention to a dangerous growing phenomenon that goes beyond digital and has serious consequences on the health and real life of thousands of people.

This work also supposes a differential visual and narrative bet within the genre: the narrative Actresses show their faces and are the voice of those who cannot tell their stories because their lives would be in serious danger. This theatrical representation of the story breaks the fourth wall to attract the viewer’s attention, a staging in which the dramatic and narrative genres are combined to bear witness to the drama of sexually exploited women. Likewise, ‘Pornexplotación’ incorporates animation to illustrate the hardest scenes of the story, a figurative process carried out by the Mallorcan plastic artist Diego Ingold.
